In Vern’s world, having people drive without taking a test - or understanding rules - is apparently preferable.

Well that would eliminate how many illegals from voting in WA alone where the DOL issues a DL and registers voters without asking if a person is a citizen.
WA. DOL is currently under investigation for such the same as NY and several other sanctuary states. Can only hope high up present and past politicians are charged and Jailed

Oppose the SAVE Act-H.R. 22-2025-2026
The SAVE Act is a voter suppression bill disguised as an election integrity bill. If passed, it would require all citizens to show proof of citizenship each time they register to vote (even when they re-register if they move). Proof of citizenship doesn’t mean a simple driver’s license. It means a birth certificate or a passport. Millions of eligible voters do not have these documents readily available.
Some Americans are more likely than others to lack having a birth certificate or a passport, including older and younger voters, voters of color, and the millions of married women who have changed their last names (so their documents don’t match).
This voter suppression bill would also upend the most popular methods of voter registration, such as mail in registration under the National Voter Registration Act or online registration through state government websites.
It is expected the U. S. House of Representatives will vote on this bill next week. A vote for this misguided measure would be a vote to potentially block millions of constituents from registering and voting.
Please call or write Congressman Dan Newhouse and demand that he vote against this unprecedented voter suppression bill.
