Trump orders 30,000 beds built at Guantanamo Bay

So you'd need approximately 7500 guards for that many people. Which basically doubles then number of personnel stationed at Gitmo. That's a lot of people to train and hire and organize. Especially when you stop to consider that nobody in the US military is going to want that job or duty station.

Note that it is also a place to put politically problematic US Citizens where they would be beyond the reach of the US Court System.
