The police officers showed great restraint that day, even when they were being physically attacked. Well, they couldn't very well draw out their weapons, especially when beaten down to the ground. Hard to draw a weapon with a mob crushing in on them.

What would have happened if officers had fired at the beginning outside, when the mob was going nuts. It would have started a blood bath. It can't be said that the protesters were unarmed. Some were but from the videos many had poles, fire extinguisher, etc being used as weapons.

CNN reports that the January 6 criminals have been told they are invited to attend inaugural balls tonight. They are going to be released from the D.C. jail momentarily.
