In the current political climate and most any imaginable near-future political climate constitutional amendments are not possible.

I'd also bet that any new Article 5 constitution would include a clause that people with a net worth of over $1 billion would not be subject to any laws or the courts. Basically we have that now but it would be nice if we were honest to ourselves and wrote that down.

Unlikely - in fact, EXTREMELY unlikely to happen… now or in the near future. Actually - there is exactly ZERO chance of this happening in the lifetime of most us here, now.

Reason? Constitutional Conventions are very ‘open-ended’. One party or group wants to put forward a new Amendment - like this one - but then realize the door is ‘open’ for considering any - and EVERY - other topic or issue that convention delegates might want to put forward.

Legalizing Abortion up to the 28th week of pregnancy? Yup…consider it!

Making Trans sexual sports legal? Yes…we have to take it up.

A Constitutional Convention - under Article 5 - has NEVER happened. Why?

The framers wanted that option to be available…..but by allowing ANY measure to be considered….they figured a Convention would be a pretty rare event. As history has shown it to be. Backers of a single issue - like this one - don’t want to risk opening the door to EVERY wild idea out there.

That is why ALL the Amendments - after the first 10 - to the Constitution have always been through the Congressional route.

Note that much of the opposition to calling for a Convention has come from right-leaning, conservative Groups.

With 2026 being the 250th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence, 2026 is the year (if not sooner) that a Constituional Convention be called and a 28th Amendment be added to the Constitution, calling for Term limits on All Members ofCongress
12 year limit in Congress, either as a member of the House of Representatives or as a Senator or Combination thereof. Additionally Members of Congress shall be paid while Members of Congress ONLY.

We do not need Congress to make this law We the People can do it with Constitution Convention of the States in accordance with Article V of the Constitution, just need the people to start demanding their State join in calling for a Convention of States,
Takes 34 states to have a Constitutional Convention and then only 38 States to ratify it to make it law.
