Thanks for clarifying. That is good that it won't come back on if a branch hits. The OCEC is looking out for our best interests.

Not shutting down lines at this time... just changing the recloser response... If a branch hits a line and causes a short, the power will not blink and come back on... It will stay off until somebody checks the line and what caused the short

OCEC Fire Mitigation

Post by PAL »

Hi Ray,
I understand about the reclosers and OCEC's mitigation efforts. I am just wondering, its says, "due to current weather conditions", I am assuming the lines are shut down because of possible fire danger, due to the high winds expected tonight. And also they are inspecting them? I know you said you are not on the board, but it seems like people are not getting much info. Maybe the ones affected are.
We have solar and an inter tie to the grid and we are customers of OCEC, and of course, our power is not shut off at all. In fact, the meter is turning backwards!
I am just curious as to why they are shutting down, pre fire. (Let's hope there is no fire) Thanks.
