Upon further reflection, the very idea that Homeland Security has an experimental laser weapon is pretty damned scary.

To be fair, I'm kind of reassured that they are freaking out about drones. Largely because it wouldn't take a lot of resources to launch a pretty devastating drone-based attack on the Untied States. And I'm very doubtful we'd have enough laser beams in the right places to effectively defend against something like that.
