The plain language of the 14th amendment is pretty clear. The Supreme Court also thinks so:

Re: It’s an old story…..
Considering Birthright citizenship was for the offspring of those that were brought here against their will, (offspring of slaves) I guess you could say I am against Birthright citizenship of the offspring of those illegally in this country, and yes it DOES NOT apply to the extended family of those birthed in Country.
When my daughter was born in Japan she did get citizenship of Japan but her Mother and I did not, when she turned 18 she was given the choice of citizenship for Japan or the US not both.

So Jingles, you're denying birthright citizenship?

You are correct it is not a crime to be here without an ID BUT it is a Federal crime to be in this country Without going through the established procedures which makes it a criminal offenseRideback wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2025 3:01 pm It's not a crime to be here without ID, it is a civil offense and is adjudicated in civil court.
On the other hand, the AP is now reporting that they have been denied a press pass because they did reporting which did not call out the Gulf of Mexico as Trump's newly named Gulf of America.

Re: It’s an old story…..
Vern, your assumptions are quite incorrect about what I am saying. I didn't list every single damn crime.
"You limi the deportation to rapists , murderers and etc. So I have to presume you feel we should not worry about shop lifters, drunk drivers, pedophiles, or any other "small time" criminals, be they illegals or legal, so basically you are advocating a multi tier justice system. By saying it is OK to break some laws but not others."
Pedophiles are not small time criminals as your sentence implies. You lump that heinous crime in with shoplifters and drunk drivers. I did use etc if you noticed.

I'll agree with Vern's position when he surrenders to the Okanogan County Jail for going two miles per hour over the speed limit in Twisp.

I agree with getting out the criminals that are the rapists, murderers, etc.
Unfortunately Hamas has delayed letting hostages go.
Gettin' pretty wild eyed here. "threw in someone who received zero votes from actual voters".
And we can discuss how pissed off the farmers are.
The illegals broke Federal law by entering this country illegally therefore they by even the simplest definition are criminals

Remind us all the percentage of votes Kamala received in the primaries? Or how about when she ran for president the first time and rightly accused Joe Biden of being a blatant and unapologetic racist?

Re: It’s an old story…..
I never agreed he’s a fascist, I’m pointing out how ridiculous your hyperbole and bull*** rhetoric is. Hostage’s are coming home all over the world (without paying billions) government waste and corruption is being exposed and ferreted out, the border is largely secured and horrible criminals are being deported and sent to Gitmo, our country is being stood up for and getting invested in by trillions of dollars and this is just 3 weeks in! You’ll are exposed for the crap and hypocrisy you’ve been peddling, you couldn’t bankrupt him, you couldn’t jail him (both by corrupting the judicial system and lawfare, THAT’S FASCIST!) and you couldn’t beat him at the ballot box (even though you lied about the elected candidate and threw in someone who received zero votes from actual voters) You have zero credibility to bi**h about anything right now but I’m sure you noisy gong will just keep going.

I guess it all comes down to if you think fascism is okay or not.
I am reminded of Brandolini's Law:

Yep, farmers are pissed. I noticed Ken says 47 "is the only fascist reducing the size and scope of gov't". So he admits it's fascism. Or does he mean Elon or both?

Re: It’s an old story…..
'EDIT: Wow! This post has blown up! Many of you have asked for sources, so I went ahead and edited the post to include those. I tried to use "close to the source" sources as possible. E.g. stories published in ag trade publications, notices from agricultural, trade and manufacturing organizations and, in some cases, links to social media posts where people are personally discussing their experiences. Please keep sharing!
Folks, it's taken a few days to trickle down, but I'm seeing post after post after post in the ag community social media channels of massive issues impacting U.S. farmers and the U.S. ag economy from Trump's DOGE efforts, tariff wars and the USAID shutdown.
Here are a few:
*Cotton and grain growers are losing contracts to long-time Canadian buyers because, even with the tariff pause, Canadian buyers don't trust the stability of U.S. export commerce with Trump in office. Plus, Canadians are just flat-out pissed and avoiding U.S. made/produced goods, including farm products.

https://www.cbc.ca/.../as-more-people-b ... dian-these...
* Chuck Grassley, of all people, is pleading with Trump to exempt potash from any Canadian tariffs because U.S. potash (a major fertilizer in agriculture) mainly comes from Canada. Impending tariffs will shoot farmers' fertilizer prices sky-high.
SOURCES:
https://thehill.com/.../5123701-us-impo ... ffs-on.../
* Corn and soybean farmers are upset because Trump cancelled all of Biden's Climate Smart grants that were supposed to help them offset their adoption of soil health improving new practices like no-till and cover cropping.
SOURCES:
https://soygrowers.com/.../soy-growers-urge-climate.../
https://www.bloomberg.com/.../soy-farmers-urge-trump-to...
* USAID's cancellation cuts $2 billion straight out of U.S. farmer's pockets from the Food for Peace program which purchased rice, wheat, corn and soy from U.S. farmers and distributed them to hungry nations. In some states and for some crops, USAID was their primary buyer.

* USDA NRCS is cancelling conservation contracts and leaving farmers holding the bag. These are things like fence improvements and upgraded water lines that boost farmer efficiency while also conserving the environment. Plus, the way they work is the farmer has to do the work first, then once they are done, the NRCS reimburses them. So now farmers that have spent the money to do the work are being told the NRCS won't honor their contracts.

* California farmers are PISSED because his "turn on the taps" PR move did nothing to combat California wildfires and instead wasted 2 BILLION gallons of water being held in reservoirs for summer irrigation.
https://www.npr.org/.../farmers-are-worried-after-trump...
https://abc30.com/.../central-california.../15862080/
* U.S. crop farmers are freaked out over the trade wars since Canada, China and Mexico represent half - let me repeat that again, HALF, of all U.S. agricultural exports!

* Per Trump's freeze on financial contracts, the USDA is withholding funds for the Organic Market Development Grant program and the Transition to Organic Partnership Program, which typically go directly to organic farmers or to non-profits supporting organic farmers.
SOURCES:

* The shutdown of USAID has been trickling down through multiple ag-focused agencies, including the Soybean Innovation Labs, which were hosted at land-grant universities across the U.S.. These research labs focused on developing new genetics and growing practices in soybeans critical to U.S. and international growers. They had to close the entire program, laying off 30 scientists and researchers in 19 labs across 17 states.

https://www.linkedin.com/.../nathanfaleide_acting-on...
* K State University lost up to $50 million that was pledged through a USAID Program over the next five years to advance research in “sustainable intensification,” an approach focused on increasing crop yields without expanding agricultural land use, expected to directly benefit Kansas (and U.S.) farmers.
SOURCES:
https://thisistopeka.com/.../k-state-lo ... illion.../
* China's retaliatory tariffs (although not yet on crops, we shall see) are expected to have a major impact on U.S. ag machinery manufacturers, who were already struggling and have had massive lay-offs over the last 12 months. China imported almost $800 million of U.S.-manufactured ag machinery in 2020.
SOURCES:
https://www.manufacturingdive.com/.../china.../739278/
And it goes on and on and on with new, major issues coming to light on a near-hourly basis. My heart hurts for U.S. farmers and U.S. farm communities, large and small, that are needlessly and thoughtlessly being impacted by this.' George Smith
