Re: Riverwalk

The Susie Stephens trail was supposed to go past the Thriftway to the Post Office. Blocked by Property owners and Foghorn ditch owners. One of these days someone is gonna buy it walking on the road. But hey, should tourists and residents be able to WALK to the grocery store safely?

Riverwalk

An article in the MVN says that the Riverwalk trail is all but dead, being held up by half a dozen businesses. Anyone know which businesses those are?

I refuse to put winter tires because:
It’s my car, my choice, my freedom.
The effectiveness of winter tires is not proven, except by studies carried out by the manufacturers (you amaze me).
My neighbor Robert had an accident after putting on his winter tires.
Some are already on their 3rd set of ...

Re: B.1.1.529 (Omicron) - What scientists know about the new variant

Here's the way i look at it. Humans are part of the animal kingdom. In most of the kingdom survival of the species is attained by survival of the individual, and that's all that counts. What, allegedly, sets humans apart is the size of their brains. Those brains allow for acting in a different ...

The root causes of mistrust in our institutions have yet to be reconciled. Until that happens, and all people are treated fairly and with respect, expect more of the same.

Have you recognized your contribution to the problem?

Jay Inslee is currently a overlord, Joe Biden is too as are many, many more but I didn’t accuse you of being a overlord only that you seem to be supporting more power and control to those that are seizing that power. You’re rather obviously ignoring my main point and throwing straw men arguments ...

Well it’s a actual vaccine (and I’ve had it). Nobody who gets the polio vaccine ever gets polio! This therapeutic for COVID (it really only seems to lessen the chances of severe injury or death for the individual) doesn’t stop transmission or even getting COVID. It’s proving (with the need for a ...

The article has a great line in it: Mask Up to Keep It Up. And the article is pre-Delta! Who knows what's happening now. Maybe Covid will solve our population problem in more than one way.

All of the above info re how to treat TB patients is true. So is that fact that we have forced them to be treated in the name of public health. The two are not mutually exclusive. And so is the fact that George Washington forced his army to be variolated against smallpox, without which we all might ...

Results from a recent study show the substantial toll that COVID-19 has taken on some people: those referred to outpatient rehabilitation clinics for post–COVID-19 care were twice as likely as the clinics’ patients with cancer to be in poor physical health or in pain. (emphasis mine)

A CDC report earlier in August that studied patients in Kentucky who were unvaccinated and got infected showed that, compared to vaccinated patients, they had a 2.34X chance of getting reinfected. This probably reflects the presence of Delta. Throw out what you "knew" before. Delta is a new animal.

Re: Kicked Off the Methownet BB

My guess is that underlying it all is the fact that Methownet is a business. So making money takes precedence and pissing some people off might lead to loss of revenue, so they just axe potentially controversial topics. Pretty sad, particularly because they cut off some voices of reason.

On another BB I happened across a poster who does "give a rat's arse". Here's his short post:

I have had the virus and I’ve had both shots. I don’t think I could be less communicable in a Hazmat suit. But I will mask up when I’m asked to just to provide extra protection to the unvaccinated. What ...
