Idaho Rocks & Gems

by pasayten » Sun May 05, 2024 1:54 am

We have joined the Rock Club at Idaho Rocks & Gems and are having a great time learning about rockhounding and lapidary. They are based out of Boise at 1150 North Orchard Street Boise Idaho and are open 11am-7pm seven days a week. From their webpage:
We are a southern Idaho Rock Shop and Rock Club… and are located on the Boise Bench.
We do trips almost every weekend weather permitting. The club is designed so you can hound our claims and sites any time without the group too.
We sell rock hounding tools, lapidary equipment and rocks and gems from all localities.
We are here primarily to be the home base for our local rock hounding community.
We have classes for Wire wrapping, Flint Knapping, Lapidary & Silver Smithing at the rock shop.
All classes and digs are scheduled and posted under the events tab at the top of our Facebook page with the exception of lapidary classes. We teach lapidary every day and accept walk in classes.
Our club is designed to educate & teach new and old hounders how and where to hound ethically with your loved ones.
We give away thunder eggs to every customer and every kid gets one as an award for not being an adult every time they come into the shop. We cut them for you too before you leave.
We don’t do meetings we just hound. We are the homebase for rockhounding in Idaho.
We have a Facebook page to share and discuss stones, rockhounding and where and how to find areas to go hounding.
